I know some of you out there are playing on nines and eights.

The best example I can give you is a weightlifter curling 50 lb and then he decides that he just wants to curl 25 lb.

That would never happen the weightlifter is always going to move up to 60 lb to build up the muscles.

It's the same with playing guitar the second advantage is that the strings don't flop around on the neck and they stay in tune better.
