I paid $200 for this custom-cast super heavy cast iron grate for my kettle style grill, and it's so heavy I can't pick it up without hurting my back. It is WAY heavier than I thought it would be. It is custom made, hand cast in Europe. It literally took several months between ordering it and when it arrived. It is about 1/2 inch thick, 19.5 inches in diameter, and weighs probably about 30 lbs. I had to use a dolly to move it to my back yard. It would literally support the weight of a car. This grate will heat up evenly and retain heat for grilling the perfect steak. It is unused and I bought another cast iron grate that weighs about half of this one. I paid $200 for it and am selling it for $100 firm to cut my losses. This will last for generations, easily. Get rid of that wimpy pathetic little wire grate from CHY-NA and do yourself a big favor that will last a lifetime, and grill your food the right way on this cast iron grate.
